RBBEF to Host ETS VP,
Eleanor Horne
At its Tuesday,
September 1st meeting, the Red Bank Borough Education Foundation
will host Eleanor Horne, Vice-President of the ETS Social Investment Fund. In her presentation, Ten Success Factors for
Education Foundations, Ms. Horne will discuss the essentials for a successful education
foundation. Many of these factors lead to greater success in raising
money or other resources for public schools.
Now in its
second year since reorganization, RBBEF is assembling a funding plan for its
Swimming River Discoveries project, a conversion of the Primary School’s
17-acre wetlands site into an outdoor science learning center and town
recreation space.
The lecture will begin at 6:30 pm at the
Eleanor
Horne heads the ETS Social Investment Fund as an outreach to underserved and
underrepresented groups. In addition she
coordinates the ETS community outreach, service and volunteer groups. In her more than 35 years with ETS she has
also served as Director of Test Collection, assistant director of ERIC, the
Clearinghouse on Tests, Measurement, and Evaluation. Prior to that she served as research
assistant for: the US Commission on Civil Rights in

Involvement Award from
ETS, while most
widely known for its administration and scoring of more than 24 million tests
annually at over 9000 locations worldwide (e.g., the SAT and PSAT), is a
nonprofit institution founded in 1947 with the mission to advance quality and
equity in education by providing fair and valid assessments, research and
related services for all people. It
serves individuals, educational institutions and government agencies around the
world with teacher professional development products and services, classroom
and end-of-course assessments, and research-based teaching and learning tools.
